“Between stimulus and response there is a space.

In that space is our power to choose our response.

In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”

Viktor E. Frankl

I do not ascribe to the question which asks what is wrong with you; it is more a question of what has happened to you.

My name is Tanya Beachus and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor who works privately in Bristol. I work face to face, online and on the telephone. I work with a person-centred approach and I can adapt my practice creatively to help you express and understand your feelings. I choose to meet you with acceptance, empathy, authenticity and above all compassion.

Whatever your situation, counselling offers a safe confidential space to explore and grow in understanding and to achieve self-confidence with the aim to enhance your life and relationships. I adapt my approach to meet your individual needs. I work within a trauma informed model both in practice and training.

I welcome clients from all diverse communities and backgrounds, whether it be cultural or neurodiversity for example. I am interested in other people’s lives and I inform myself through reading, film, listening and healthy debate.

I am a Registrant Accredited Member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I engage in regular supervision to ensure ethical considerations and safe practice for your wellbeing. I also attend regular Continuing Professional Development.

It may be people who hurt you but it is people who heal you.
